CSCM / Usage

Using CSCM

CSCM gives you one dashboard for your Minecraft servers. Start with the installation guide if you have not set it up yet.

Open the dashboard URL from the installer, usually http://localhost:3000. The first person to open a fresh installation creates the administrator account. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app and enter one current six-digit code to finish registration. On later visits, sign in with that account.

Create a server

  1. Open the dashboard and choose to create a server.
  2. Select Java or Bedrock, choose a name, Minecraft version and the resources the server can use.
  3. Review the server settings and create it. The first start may take a few minutes while Docker downloads the image and server files.
  4. Use the server controls to start, stop or restart it. Open its details to inspect status and player activity.

Let players connect

Public access runs through Playit, so you don't need to open ports on your router. After creating your account, the dashboard's setup asks for your Playit account and either starts a Playit agent for you (paste its SECRET_KEY) or uses one you already run. Cloudflare custom DNS is optional; without it, share the Playit address shown for the server. To change any of this later, click the settings button in the top bar. Servers created while public access isn't set up are local only.

For local-only servers, skip Playit during installation and use your host's local network address.

Manage files and players

Open a server to browse and upload files, adjust server properties, and inspect or manage connected players. Stop the server before changing files that the Minecraft process writes itself, then start it again.

Back up a world

Use the server's backup controls to create a backup before changing versions, mods or important configuration. Backups live in the persistent directory chosen during installation. Download or restore a backup from the dashboard when needed.

Update or troubleshoot

When a new version is out, the dashboard shows a banner with an Update button that updates CSCM for you. See the help page if something goes wrong. To update by hand instead, pull the latest code and rebuild the stack from the installation directory:

git pull
docker compose up --build -d

Check service status and logs from the same directory:

docker compose ps
docker compose logs --tail=100 api web playit

If you chose an existing Playit agent, the Compose stack has no playit service; omit it from the logs command. For more detail, see the CSCM README.
